At the India Clean Transportation Summit (ICTS) 2025, a milestone partnership was unveiled: the Delhi-Oslo Smart Transport Initiative (DOSTI).

Delhi’s Transport Minister, Pankaj Kumar Singh, outlined a bold vision: by 2030, Delhi aims to become India’s EV capital, with electric buses and a strong charging network leading the transition. “When a friend helps another friend, that’s when true friendship flourishes,” he remarked, underscoring the power of collaboration.

From Oslo, Audun Garberg, Vice Director & Head of the Climate Department, emphasized how co-learning between cities can accelerate scalable zero-emission solutions. Oslo’s success in electric mobility and its 100% zero-emission municipal construction target offer valuable lessons for Delhi’s journey.

This partnership goes far beyond symbolism. It is about shared knowledge, shared solutions, and shared responsibility — building a blueprint for cleaner, more inclusive, and future-ready cities.

Yet, DOSTI was just one of many highlights at ICTS 2025. Hosted by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), the summit brought together 650+ participants, 60+ speakers, and 72 agencies for a rich exchange on the future of mobility. The conversations stretched across plenaries and workshops, covering critical themes such as:

• Scaling electric bus fleets across India and the infrastructure needed to support them.
• Strategies for clean freight and logistics, combining efficiency with sustainability.
• Policy innovations like vehicle taxation reform and non-fiscal enablers for EV adoption.
• Advances in emissions tracking to strengthen data-driven policymaking.
• Expanding decarbonisation into marine transport and zero-emission construction machinery.

Taken together, these dialogues delivered a clear message: the mobility transition is not a single solution but an interconnected ecosystem — one that thrives on innovation, cooperation, and global learning.
