A powerful step toward scalable, hybrid long-haul logistics

At the 2025 Mid-Year Partner Conference in Chengdu, Beijing Heavy-Duty Truck took a bold step toward the future of sustainable logistics by unveiling the iDream 710 — a 710-horsepower hybrid heavy-duty truck developed for the specific demands of long-haul, trunk-line operations.

This announcement marks a major inflection point in the evolution of hybrid commercial vehicles in China and beyond. While many in the industry have focused on fully electric platforms, Beijing Heavy-Duty Truck is championing a “dual-lane” strategy — advancing battery-electric innovation through its new Blue Dream brand while simultaneously investing in high-performance hybrid systems that can deliver results immediately.

🔧 Performance Meets Practicality

The iDream 710 isn’t just about raw power — though with 710 horsepower, it outpaces many conventional diesel units on the road today. What sets it apart is its ability to balance performance with environmental and economic efficiency.

Equipped with a high-efficiency hybrid powertrain, the iDream 710 is engineered for:

  • Fuel savings of 15–25%, even under full-load, long-distance conditions
  • Lower total cost of ownership through improved energy efficiency and reduced wear
  • Consistent power delivery and load stability thanks to intelligent hybrid control systems
  • Lower emissions per ton-kilometer, meeting increasingly stringent freight regulations

These gains make the iDream 710 an attractive solution for large fleet operators seeking to reduce their environmental footprint without overhauling existing operations or waiting for charging infrastructure to catch up.

🔋 Bridging Today and Tomorrow

The launch of the iDream 710 was accompanied by the debut of Beijing Heavy-Duty Truck’s new electric sub-brand: Blue Dream. While Blue Dream will focus on battery-electric vehicles, the iDream represents a bridge technology — delivering decarbonization benefits today while paving the way toward full electrification in the future.

The company’s dual-lane approach reflects a growing recognition across the industry: the path to zero-emission freight will not be linear. Instead, it will require multiple technologies working in parallel — hybrid, electric, hydrogen, and beyond — tailored to different routes, regions, and use cases.

This pragmatic, systems-based perspective is a hallmark of the Hybrid Alliance’s vision for clean transport: real solutions that work under real-world conditions.

đźšš Road to Deployment

One of the most promising aspects of the iDream 710 is its market readiness. According to Beijing Heavy-Duty Truck, the model is expected to enter commercial availability by the end of 2025.
