At the IAA Transportation 2024 event, Cummins Inc. unveiled a new integrated drivetrain concept, highlighting its diesel-hybrid technology as part of a flexible, multi-solution approach to sustainable transportation. Cummins’ diesel-hybrid powertrain is designed to help vehicle manufacturers meet stringent European emissions standards, including Euro 7.

Cummins’ hybrid solutions combine diesel engines with electric power components from Accelera™ by Cummins, offering a balance of reduced emissions and operational flexibility. Hybrid powertrains can play a critical role in lowering carbon emissions while the infrastructure for fully electric vehicles continues to expand. Jane Beaman, Vice President at Cummins, emphasized that hybrid technology could help bridge the gap, eliminating range anxiety and enhancing the adaptability of commercial vehicles as manufacturers work towards CO2 reduction goals.

Cummins’ hybrid offerings complement its broader portfolio, which also includes advanced diesel engines and zero-emission hydrogen solutions, ensuring customers have the flexibility to choose the most suitable powertrain for their operational needs.
