Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transportation is an important step towards a sustainable future and a goal of Hybrid Alliance. Sometimes you don’t even need to look into the future to understand the current need for cleaner and more versatile propulsion technologies.

To protect workers in production halls from the unhealthy emissions of combustion engines, a new hybrid 6-axle heavy transport platform from Cometto allows the use of a 100-kW electric motor powered by a battery pack for operations inside halls. The battery pack will be charged by the 186-kW diesel engine when driving outside and enable emission free driving when back inside. The system therefore stays relatively light, is not being limited in its range, does not need an additional charging station and still provides the benefits of electric propulsion where it is most important at the touch of a button.

With this hybrid concept, strict legislations concerning workers health will be met while keeping a flexible and efficient use of the transport platform in a production process.
