CATL Unveils Revolutionary TECTRANS Battery System, Pushing the Boundaries of Electric Commercial Vehicles

At IAA Transportation 2024, CATL launched its TECTRANS battery system, a game-changer for the commercial vehicle sector. The TECTRANS system offers superior energy density, faster charging, and extended durability. CATL unveiled two major products for heavy-duty trucks: the TECTRANS-T Superfast Charging Edition, which charges 70% in 15 minutes, and the TECTRANS-T Long Life Edition, boasting a lifespan of up to 15 years or 2.8 million kilometers. Both editions provide a 500 km range, catering to diverse transportation needs.
For buses, CATL introduced the TECTRANS-Bus Edition with an industry-leading energy density of 175Wh/kg, designed for long-range travel and optimal energy efficiency. CATL also expanded its portfolio to light trucks in China, targeting urban logistics. The company’s focus on sustainability includes recycling initiatives and a goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2025 in manufacturing and by 2035 across its supply chain.
CATL aims to advance the electrification of commercial vehicles, addressing key industry challenges like charging time, cost, and range.
