New Hybrid Transmission from ZF-Group
ZF announced at the IAA Transportation Show in Hannover, Germany, the launch of a new TraXon 2 hybrid transmission.
This transmission is designed to enable electric driving functions for both fully hybrid and plug-in hybrid commercial vehicles. ZF highlighted that this technology was initially developed for passenger cars and is now being adapted for heavy-duty trucks. The transmission can transform diesel trucks into hybrids, significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions
Dr. Peter Laier, member of the ZF board and responsible for the commercial vehicle industry, said during a press conference that decarbonization is certainly the dominating subjects at IAA and in the commercial vehicle world. Therefore ZF has customized solutions for zero emissions and CO2 reduction.
Further ZF Group announced recently a strategic partnership based on hybrid transmission with Chinese brand Foton Motor.
